Abilene will host a Heroes of Tourism party honoring members of the travel industry.


National Travel & Tourism Week
May 5-11, 2019
Visit City Hall in downtown Conroe to see the NTTW display. Stop by the Visit Conroe office in the Chamber of Commerce building to meet the staff and enjoy treats to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week!


NTTW Spirit of Amigo Luncheon
May 9, 2019
The luncheon celebrates the impact of travel in El Paso and awards a local El Pasoan with the Spirit of Amigo Award.  This year’s recipient is Dr. Diana Natalicion, UTEP President.  In addition, local hotels and attractions nominate an individual/s from their property that go above and beyond and truly make a difference in the hospitality industry.  These nominees are recognized at the luncheon and presented with a small token of appreciation. Other NTTW activities include a press conference, education day, influencer meet up and travel fair.


2019 Annual National Travel & Tourism Week Luncheon

Join the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau in celebrating how #TravelMatters to Fredericksburg and Gillespie County during a luncheon at St. Joseph’s Halle on Wednesday, May 8, at 11:45 a.m. 


National Travel & Tourism Week 
May 5-11, 2019
McAllen is hosting a variety of special events and engaging social media activities in celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, May 5th - May 11th! The City of Palms kicks off the week with a Press Conference at Oval Park where McAllen Mayor Jim Darling will be issuing a proclamation declaring it National Travel and Tourism Week. Later in the week, The McAllen Greeters will be hosting a Border Buttermilk Welcoming Reception, a 50-year McAllen tradition, at the McAllen International Airport. The weeklong celebration culminates with Sunset Live, an event in the heart of our Convention Center District- Oval Park.


5th Annual Pearland Tourism Celebration

Pearland will recognize the hospitality & tourism industry and its economic impact on the community, present awards and highlight what's new in Pearland.


National Travel & Tourism Week Activities
May 5 – 11, 2019
San Antonio will kick off the week with a series of recognitions for everyone that makes Tourism possible. Specifically, San Antonio will host a Salute to Firefighters and Paramedics, Salute to Law Enforcement, Taxi Driver Appreciation Day, Salute to Centro Ambassadors, and a Go Rio River Barge Driver Appreciation. In addition, the week will include a Student Hospitality and Culinary Showcase by students from St Phillips College. Visit San Antonio will also host its annual Honors Reception announcing the recipients of the prestigious Robert H.H. Hugman Award and the Con Corazon Award. In addition to these two legacy awards, Visit San Antonio is introducing a new honor this year, Deep In The Heart, which recognizes organizations or individuals who excel in charitable giving in San Antonio. The reception will also include a proclamation from City Council honoring the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.

South Padre Island

National Travel & Tourism Week Events

South Padre Island will host a variety of events and educational seminars focusing on best practices in the tourism and hospitality space.


NTTW Proclamation & Presentation at City of Tyler City Council Meeting
May 8, 2019
The Mayor will issue a proclamation declaring it National Travel and Tourism Week and Visit Tyler will give a short presentation on the economic impact of tourism to the community, state and nation.
