The Advertising area promotes Texas as a premier travel destination to potential and repeat visitors through national and international advertising. In addition to the production and placement of national cable television commercials, the department executes campaigns across various media platforms, including domestic and international print ads in both consumer and trade publications, digital ad placements and out of home advertising.  To help industry partners increase their reach with cost efficiency, cooperative advertising programs are offered for both public and private sector organizations. The advertising and marketing efforts encourage consumers to visit the website for travel information.  Additional travel information is also available through the Travel Texas email newsletter and international microsites.
The PR/Marketing area conducts an integrated program of activities targeting media (traditional and social), travel trade professionals, and consumers in the U.S. and primary international source markets.  Working with in-market public relations firms, the PR/Marketing area promotes and markets the Texas travel experience through such activities as: sales and media missions; trade show marketing; familiarization tours and other media activities to generate media coverage of the Texas travel experience and direct-to-consumer promotions.

This program of activities conducted by the PR/Marketing area includes many cooperative public relations and marketing opportunities for Texas travel industry partners, including convention and visitors bureaus, hotels, attractions, etc.  These cooperative activities allow Texas travel industry partners to leverage the activities of Travel Texas to reach more potential travelers to Texas in both domestic and important international markets.
